    Watching MP4/AVI

    Hi,

I always used to watch film files through my 360 but I can't figure out how to do so on the Xbox one. Can you use a usb drive to watch films from or is this not available? Do I have to use an app? Any help would be appreciated.

Hate to say this, but currently you can't.

I'd found an iOS/android app that promised a handshake and playback - empty promise.

Currently although I love my Xbox one, I can do SO much more on my 360 than I can my Xbox one.

MS really should make good on the DNLA streaming locally promise and start filling out feature sets we already have on the 360....

Could you upload them to skydrive, and watch them from that?

I have done just that, but skydrive won't launch on my box. It just tells me that "something is wrong" and skydrive needs to restart. Restarting yields nothing.

Plus I don't feel like uploading all my stuff up there. Currently I've 4TB of content and growing.

So I can play through SkyDrive but not through USB. I'll give i a go.

Totally right about the 360. I could do loads more, stream from my mac and play straight from USB.

    Thanks for the help.
